Ninbella Art Gallery Bangalow
December 05, 2017
I was delighted to go to the launch of Ninbella Gallery on the first Friday night of December in Bangalow.
Indigenous art is beautiful and tells the stories and history of the Aboriginal people from this land.
As a New Zealander I was bought up learning basic Maori culture in school, singing songs and creating art with traditional colours and forms. I have been living in Australia for 17 years and as an Australian citizen I still have a lot to learn about the Indigenous people of this land.
My friend Grant is the passionate owner and curator of the gallery and has seen to it his company belongs to the Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand so that the Artists get generous royalties for their designs and work.
I highly recommend a visit as the profile of indigenous art in the northern rivers is not high and yet the quality here is fabulous.
Ninbella Art Gallery Bangalow is a gallery our local community can be proud of as a representation of quality Aboriginal art, a place locals and tourists alike can enjoy.
