  • Yellow gold verses rose gold

March 31, 2020

Yellow gold has less copper in the alloy than Rose gold as it is the copper gives the alloy the rosy colour. 18ct yellow gold and 18ct rose gold have the same amount of pure gold in them, as do 9ct yellow and 9ct rose gold. Preference comes down to the individual. The higher the pure gold content, the yellower the metal becomes. If you like your gold rosy, then 9ct or 18ct rose might be for you. If you prefer mid to strong yellow then 18ct  or 22ct yellow would be the best choice. White gold is made by adding, silver, nickel, copper, palladium and zinc to gold, to change its natural colour.
